Within the framework of honoring and recognizing the blood donors, a gala ceremony was held at Doha Sheraton Hotel, under the patronage of HE Abdulla Bin Khaled Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health. The event was under the theme: “Every Blood Donor is a Hero”.

Qatar Steel was honored as one of the national companies who greatly contributed to the success of the blood donors’ drives during 2011, and as one of the sponsors of the blood donors’ recognition ceremony 2012.  Qatar Steel was also recognized for its effective support and valuable contributions in this respect.

Upon receiving the appreciation certificate and memento, Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Ansari, Commercial Division Manager, expressed his great excitement by saying that Qatar Steel is keen to hold a blood donation drive every year, which comes in continual cooperation with blood bank at HMC, and it constantly urges its employees to donate blood, as a national and humane duty towards the community. The company is also helping to disseminate the culture of voluntary blood donation in the society, and to meet the blood requirements of the hospital, to be able to save the lives of the patients who are in bad need for blood.

“The participation of Qatar Steel in co-sponsoring the annual blood donors’ recognition ceremony stems from its support of all humane activities, as they ultimately contribute to the welfare of the local community, in addition to boosting the bright image of the State of Qatar.”  Mr. Ansari added.
