Qatar Steel is scheduled for a ResponisbleSteel Stage 2 Audit with UK CARES from 3rd August 2025 to 14th August 2025.
The ResponsibleSteel International Production Standard is a robust framework aimed at promoting responsible practices in the steel industry. It encompasses 13 Principles and over 500 requirements, addressing key sustainability challenges such as decarbonization, climate change mitigation, labor rights, human rights, Occupational Health & Safety, water management, biodiversity conservation, and other critical aspects of sustainable steel production.

As part of certification journey, in September 2023, Qatar Steel became the first company in the Middle East region to be a member of ResponsibleSteel. Subsequently, Qatar Steel selected CARES as an auditing body for ResponsibleSteel Certification audit (Core Site Certification) and successfully completed the Stage 1 audit by CARES in August 2024.
