In appreciation of their devoted efforts and dedication, Qatar Steel honored 285 employees, who have spent from 10 to 40 years in service. An awarding ceremony was held at Al-Reem Club in Mesaieed Industrial City.

Attended the event were Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Muraikhi, Qatar Steel’s Managing Director and General Manager, Division and department managers and senior employees.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Al-Muraikhi said that through our recognition ceremony, we convey our gratitude and appreciation to our awardees for their committed efforts and devotion throughout their long service.

This event also reflects the importance that Qatar Steel attaches to its manpower, which it is keen to develop through training and constant motivation, in order to enhance their capabilities, improve their performance and to ultimately achieve the desired objectives and results.
Mr. Al-Muraikhi pointed out that Qatar Steel achieved outstanding performance last year, despite all challenges it faced in terms of global slow demand, fluctuating steel prices.

He went on to say that Qatar Steel had another challenge on the safety level; namely to provide and ensure a safe and zero accident working environment. Therefore, Qatar Steel launched, in 2016, a Safety Transformation Program (AMAN) across the company, in order to enhance the safety culture among all employees, educate them about the basic health and safety principles and regulations. Our vision for sustainable development lies in transforming Qatar Steel as one of leading steel companies that are applying the highest HSE standards.
