Qatar Steel has a tradition of recognizing the contribution and devotion of employees by rewarding them with a Long Service Award. This year four retiring employees, Mr. Mohd Al Emadi, Mr. Khalid Al-Hammadi, Mr. Faris Al-Shammari and Mr. Eisa Al-Nuaimi were awarded with an appreciation certificate by the MD & CEO as they moved on to their next endeavors on the journey of their lives. In the opening note of his Farewell address, given at an auspicious ceremony dedicated to the Award, Qatar Steel MD & CEO along with senior management thanked the four employees for their dedication, consistent contributions and knowledge sharing approach, which exemplified the core values of Qatar Steel and kept them and the company one step ahead of their peers. “We will share nothing but all the good memories. All the best for your future endeavors” were the last notes from the MD&CEO to the retiring employees.

Qatar Steel held its annual Health, Safety and Environment Day ceremony. Every year, the company is keen to highlight and renew its commitment to its social responsibility by pairing operational excellence with the highest health, safety and environmental standards. The ceremony was opened by Qatar Steel’s Managing Director & CEO Mr Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, also in attendance were the Departmental Chiefs Managers and a number of Qatar Steel employees and contractors. The program for the day included several awareness presentations by the Qatar Steel HSE Department, reflecting the Company’s commitment to health, safety and environment in all its operations, and its ongoing efforts to continuously develop and improve environmental performance by identifying and preventing environmental risks and promoting and encouraging environmental awareness and training. A two-day Team Building and Strategy Workshop was organized at Salwa Beach resort and attended by all managers. The two day event kicked off after a welcome address by the MD&CEO followed by team activities. The task required that the five teams work together to build a track able to transport a marble (symbolic) from one end of the room to another, passing through each team’s station whilst at the same time focusing on Qatar Steel’s values and how they apply to collaborate in team building. This was a lively team event which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants. Qatar Steel recently held a Long Service Awards Ceremony for 162 employees to thank them for their dedicated service to the Company.  Employee with a range of service between 10 to 30 years were acknowledge for  their contributions to the development of the Company and enhancing its leading  position in  steel industry, both locally and abroad.  .
