Khalid Mohammed Al-Hitmi

Khalid holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering (1992) from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and a Master of Business Administration (2004) from Hull University, Hull, UK. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is the recipient of the Mobil Award for Reservoir Engineering.

Mr. Khalid Al-Hitmi has more than 25 years of experience with Qatar Petroleum, where he held numerous technical and leadership positions in the areas of drilling, completions, reservoir management and production operations. Most recently (from 2006 until 2017), he held the position of Manager of North Field Development Department, where he was responsible for the development and management of the North Field, the largest single non-associated gas field in the World.

In January 2018, Mr. Khalid Al-Hitmi was seconded to Qatargas as Chief Operating Officer- Subsurface to direct and manage all aspects of hydrocarbon production (i.e., well construction, well intervention, reservoir / well surveillance, production optimization, etc.) to ensure sustainable growing production and maximize the value from the North Field for benefit of Shareholders and the State of Qatar. Furthermore, he manages the development planning activities associated with the North Field Production Sustainability and the North Field Expansion Projects.
