Qatar Steel has a tradition of recognizing the contribution and devotion of employees by rewarding them with a Long Service Award.  This year two retiring employees, Mr. Ibrahim Salih Al-Eshaq and Mr. Alexander Stramrood were awarded with an appreciation certificate by the MD & CEO as they moved on to their next endeavors on the journey of their lives. In the opening note of his Farewell address, given at an auspicious ceremony dedicated to the Award, Qatar Steel MD & CEO along with senior management thanked the two employees for their dedication, consistent contributions and knowledge sharing approach, which exemplified the core values of Qatar Steel and kept them and the company one step ahead of their peers. “We will share nothing but all the good memories. All the best for your future endeavors” were the last notes from the MD&CEO to the retiring employees.


Qatar Steel hosted 124th meeting of the Board of Directors and the 55th meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Iron and Steel Union (AISU) at the Sharq Village & Spa in Doha on May 22 and 23, 2022. The meetings were held after an almost two-year pause in the AISU’s activities due to the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. The General Assembly meeting was held with representatives of 65 iron and steel companies in attendance from various Arab countries. Coinciding with the two meetings, The AISU Economic Committee also resumed its fourth meeting on 22 May. Mr.Awwad Al-Khaldi, AISU Chairman, commended Qatar Steel’s efforts in hosting the meetings which came at the right time following the gradual recovery from the effects of the pandemic in order for the AISU to resume its activities aimed at developing and enhancing the iron and steel industry in the Arab world. Qatar Steel took part in Waste free Environment campaign in an effort to ‘clean up, recycle and make a difference’ held on March 10, 2022 at the Al Wakra family beach organized by GPCA. Along with MD & CEO – Qatar Steel, other young Qataris participated in the campaign. On the occasion, Mr. Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Steel, said: “Qatar Steel is proud to participate in the WFE today and pledge our commitment to integrate and maintain sustainability principles throughout our operations and the community”. Like previous campaigns which achieved a huge success, this year also it attained a far-reaching awareness among the community.
