In line with its high concern to environment, and as part of its environmental commitment, Qatar Steel participated in QP Annual Environment Fair, held under the patronage of HE Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry and Managing Director of Qatar Petrouleum, from 23-26 April, 2014 at Qatar National Conventions Centre (QNCC). A large number of QP subsidiaries and joint ventures, industry stakeholders and government companies and organizations took part in this year’s environment fair. With the view of consolidating and fostering its business relations with its accredited traders in Qatar in GCC countries, Qatar Steel hosted its 11th Traders’ Annual Gathering. An official ceremony was held at The Ritz Carlton- Doha, in honor of all Qatar Steel’s traders, and in recognition of their devoted efforts. The ceremony was attended by a large number of traders and distributers, both locally and regionally. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, and in line with support to community institutions in Qatar, Qatar Steel offered a financial contribution to Qatar Red Crescent (QRC), in support of their fifth disaster management training camp, held at its headquarters from 1 – 10 April, 2014, at Al Khor Marine Scout Camp, under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Training Camp was held under the slogan “Effective preparedness… Better response”, with an objective of building disaster preparedness capacity of the volunteers and the community in general. The program, organized by a group of QRC’s disaster management specialists, aimed at training volunteers from different nationalities.
